Google’s AI penalises publishers: M5S parliamentary question to the European Commission

Mario Furore has tabled a parliamentary question to the European Commission to raise concerns about the impact of Google’s artificial intelligence on media pluralism and the economic sustainability of news publishers. According to the M5S MEP, new AI-driven features risk reducing traffic and revenues for news outlets.
“Without clear rules, technological innovation can turn into a threat to democracy,” Furore stressed.
